VZI, Patrick Eisenmann by his real name, is known across Tirol for his live-looping solo act: one man, a pile of instruments, and a whole band built up layer by layer on stage. At The Jam Jar he co-hosted the Friday jam session with me as part of the house band. I like to think of him as music's mad professor, a one-man band in the best sense. When he is not looping and joins Fat Jack Slam instead, he brings those same instruments with him, trumpet, harmonica, keys, percussion and another voice, and adds layers, effects and dimensions to our sound that a five-piece cannot reach on its own. He has recorded and produced three albums himself, and his band VZI and the One Shots has our drummer Matthi in it too.
